A hooded parka only earns its keep in winter if the hood is actually functional and the closures actually hold. This one is built around both.

The details that make it work

A soft sherpa fleece lines the hood, which is what keeps a hood wearable in genuinely cold weather rather than just decorative. A front zip backed by a snap-popper storm flap, plus drawstring cords at the hood sides, keep the elements out at the points a parka usually lets them in. Two patch pockets with button flaps at the hip carry the essentials without a bag. Machine washable, low tumble dry recommended.

Where it fits in

Over a jumper for the school run or the commute on the coldest days, or thrown on for anything outdoors that runs longer than a quick errand.
