Bouclé's looped yarn structure traps air between the loops, which is what gives it more warmth for its weight than a flat-knit fabric of the same thickness. It closes with a button-front placket rather than a tie, and the hood is soft and loose rather than structured. Cut oversized by design, true to size against the chart, just expect the roomier fit that's the point of the style.
